How do I know which program is right for me?
After you apply to the program you will meet with an Adult Education Services team member. This meeting will help determine the best program for your current academic level.
How long will it take me to get my high school equivalency credential?
The time it takes each student to obtain their high school equivalency will vary depending on a number of factors including their incoming academic ability, how long they have been away from school, and how much time they can commit to classroom attendance and out-of-class work.
Which tests will I take in your program?
ESL students will take the TABE® CLAS-E.
Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency students will take the following three tests before they exit the program:
- The TABE® test will be used to do pre-testing upon entry into the program and post-testing for each course to measure student academic growth.
- Students who score at a level 5 or 6 on the TABE® will complete a practice of either the GED® or the HiSet®. This will help determine if they are ready to sit for the exam or specific areas the student needs to focus on to be more prepared.
- An HSE exam: either the GED® or HiSet®.
